The past year has been another successful year for Bath riders and race organisers.
Although rider numbers have dropped slightly from the previous year, there have been some exceptional performances from a few dedicated riders.
Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the small number of volunteers who organise our time trials on behalf of Bath Cycling Club.
Steven Cottington, Darren Edwards and Dave Atkinson have collectively spent much of their spare time planning and organising our Spring Hilly, 10 and Hill Climb events, and I would like to thank them again for agreeing to extend their commitment into 2020.
Additionally, all these races would not be viable without the generous help from Bath CC members helping with marshalling, time keeping and refreshments at race HQ.
On to the actual racing and two individual riders deserve special acknowledgement.
At the age of 57, one wouldn’t normally expect to produce personal bests, (especially when your existing pb’s were super quick), however Steven Cottington pb’d at 10 and 100 miles recording West Vet Age Group records along the way.
Additionally, Kim Brace lowered the already fast 50 and 100-mile records by some time. Well done to two very talented and prolific racers.
Time Trialling is dormant for a couple of months; however, it would be encouraging to see a few more Bath CC skinsuits with race numbers.
