Bath Cycling Club Trophies

Trophies 1997 (1)

Bath Cycling Club have an amazing array of trophies awarded for a wide variety of events from Time Trials, Road Races, services to the club and committment to club runs. These Trophies are awarded at the Annual Dinner held in January each year.

Club Cups

The “Tempest Plate & Chalice”. Awarded at the discretion of the committee for an outstanding performance, with a bias towards longer distances.

The “Simon Hudson Trophy”. This is the “Clubrun Champion Cup” Awarded to the Bath CC rider with the best club-run attendance of the year.

The “ J.W. Coombs Meritorious Service Cup”. At the discretion of the committee for outstanding services to the club.

Road and Circuit Race Cups

The “Ron Woodham Road Race Shield” Awarded to the rider with most road race points.

The “Arthur Curtis Shallow Bowl” Previously awarded to the winner of the Hilly 19. From 2010 awarded to the rider with the best “Road Race” result of the year.

The “Whiting Cup”To the Bath CC Junior with the most road race points

The “Les Vince Trophy” Traders Cup. Will be used for the Bath CC Club Circuit Championship on Thursday 18th June.

The “Les Vince Cup” Veterans Traders Cup. Will be used for the Bath CC Club Circuit Championship on Thursday 18th June.

Cyclo Cross Cup

Medium Gear Cup. To the winner of the medium gear [72 inch] 25
From 2013 renamed the “Cyclo Cross” Champion” trophy.

Time Trial Cups – Specific Events

The “Mike Hurley Cup”. To the fastest Bath CC veteran on std. in the Bath CC open 10. This will be held on the Frome course on 25th April..

The “S.R.Lewin 25 Cup”. To the fastest Bath CC rider in the nominated event. This will be the Severn RC on 13th September.

George Carter “25 Cup.” To the fastest Bath CC rider in the Bath CC Autumn 25. This will be held on 20th September 2015

The “Tony Mitchell Shield”. For the best Bath CC veteran on standard in the Bath CC Autumn 25 using the VTTA handicap system. This will be held on 20th September 2015.

Hill Climb Cup. To the fastest Bath CC rider at the club hill climb on 4th October 2015.

Time Trial Cups – Season

The “Roye Wheeler Cup” Awarded to the Bath CC rider with the fastest 25mile TT of the year.

The“Ladies Championship Cup”. Awarded to the Bath CC lady with the fastest 25mile TT of the year.

J. Coombs 50 Mile Cup. Awarded to the Bath CC rider with the fastest 50mile TT of the year.

The “Mrs. Perry 100 Cup”. Awarded to the Bath CC rider with the fastest 100mile TT of the year.

George Carter “12” Hour Cup. Awarded to the Bath CC rider with the greatest distance in 12 hours of the year.

The P.C.Mortimore “Short Distance Best All Rounder Cup”. To the Bath CC rider with the best av. mph over 10; 25 & 50 mile TTs on west DC courses.

The “R.Barrar Championship Cup.” To the Bath CC rider with best average speed at 50; 100 miles & 12 Hours. [If no rider finishes a 12 hr. then best at 25; 50 &100 miles.

The “Jack Lauterwasser Rose Bowl” To the Bath CC rider with the Best six ten mile T.Ts on average.

The “Ladies Best All Rounder Cup”.To the Bath CC lady with the best average speed over 10; 25 & 50 mileT.T. [ including club events }

The “John Bull Shield” Awarded to the Bath CC veteran with the best vets. plus at 10; 25 & 50 miles on west DC courses.

The”Arthur Curtis Deep Bowl”. Awarded to the rider with the best average time on hndcp. In the “ Best 6 Tens” competition.

The “Morley Brice Shield”.Awarded to the winner of the points championship at the Bath CC Time Trial Series.

Not Currently Awarded

The “Jack Gray Bournemouth and Back Shield” Awarded to the rider holding the record on 1st. November of any year.

The “Ron Woodham 1 Mile Grass Track Championship” Awarded to the winner of this event { Last held in 1970 }

Pair of Goblets. To the winning Bath CC pair in the early summer 2 up team time trial.

Pair of Cups. To the Bath CC pair finishing second in the early summer 2up TTT

The “Don Stagg Trophies”.Awarded to the winners of the late summer “Don Stagg” 2 up team time trial.
